Internships play an important role in your career. Doing an internship from a reputed company increases your knowledge and helps you to get better job opportunities in the future. In India, the AICTE said the institutions should give challenging problems as internship assignments to the students, who can work on them at home. This step is necessary because coronavirus seriously impact and social distancing is very important during this situation. But the questions arise after this statement, Is the student's career affected by doing online internships? Are online internships having the same value as compared to offline/office internships?

Let's understand this whole situation by considering all the points in mind so that students will not face any problems.

Due to the covid pandemic many private job firms

There is no doubt due to coronavirus everyone is affected. Indian economic conditions are getting worst day by day due to lockdown because there is no rotation of the money in the market, daily wage workers did not get any work and peoples are buying only important things. 

But in these conditions, there are some businesses/ industries/ companies performing well and some are in the worst condition, I divide them into the 3 groups so that we can understand them in a better way. 

groups are:

1). Winners ( Gaming industries, online shopping, online video streaming)

2). Middle (Manufacturing daily use items like soap, hair oil, etc. medical services, banking sector, service-based industries, Big and medium startups )

3). losers (shopkeepers, daily wage workers, small startups, etc)

Before moving further in the discussion on all the groups first, we have to keep in mind if the lockdown will end in India, At that time people will not use their money in the market because they have seen such type of emergency situations. So, the maximum citizens of India focusing on saving money. Now if people starting saving money means again the rotation of money will not be there in the market and a similar situation arose which was arose in 2008. due to this all the elements that come in losers group they will get seriously affected.  

All the startups come in loser groups it means they will not hire and give internship to the students. These startups are not in a condition to teach students about their work or give stipends,  their conditions are already worst. All the elements that come in loser groups primarily focus only on to re stand in the market.

Middle group elements like Ola, Uber, swiggy, daily use of product manufacture. All this company faces loss due to the lockdown but one's lockdown will end in the country. These companies soon get a huge amount of work, because they are providing daily life utilities to the people. 

All the industries which come in the winner group get huge profits as we saw in the news due to the lockdown. Users of applications like ZOOM meetings, Skype, etc increase very fast due to the lockdown.  The main reason behind this is, their products totally depend on the Internet and there is no ban on the internet during the lockdown. Similarly, other online video platforms like youtube and online gaming companies generated huge profits.

Will companies offer offline internships?

Yes companies will offer you internships but there is a slight change in their interview procedure. all the startups and IT companies are primarily looking for that student who has excellent knowledge in their domain. This will help them because they not required to spend working hours on students and they get excellent work without giving any stipend to the students. Now it is up to your college and on you, whether you should go for an offline internship or not. 

Offline internships are better than online internships?

To answer this question whatever I write is totally based on my experience of online and offline internship which I have done in Writing, choose good, public relations and Reach technologies ( AI-based textile designing company of Infosys).

Yes, there is a difference in terms of value, in terms of work experience, and very important in terms of the domain like if someone is doing work from an internship in the blogging field then there is no need to worry but if you from a technical background I suggest you before accepting this opportunity be clear what you will do, do some market research and most important company background. If you are doing an online internship always keep in mind you know all about the company, their work, and other details. 

How to get online internships?

we all know there are lots of platforms on the internet for applying for internships. Fill in all the required information very carefully and prepare your resume very well. 

According to my experience of getting online internships. your resume plays an important role but if you are not present yourself during a telephonic interview then it will be difficult to get your online internship.

Conclusion  

If the conditions remain the same and it is necessary to do an internship then go for an online internship otherwise always keep offline internships as your first priority. 

One thing I like to mention if you get an offer of an online internship from a reputed company then you can also go for it.
